Quick Reading of 48 Days To Creative Income Part 2

48 Days To Creative Income, Day 5

Day #5: Do quick reading of 48 DAYS TO CREATIVE INCOME

Turns out I got through this faster than I thought, for several reasons.

First, the book material is, in many  places, just a hard copy of audio CDs.

Secondly, there are numerous “quizes” that I know take up full days later on.

Thirdly, there are numerous lists of organizations, websites, etc.  that just take up pages.

All in all there is very little “information” in this program’s book.

Overall though I can see that it definitely is geared at “old-school” self-employed business wanna-bes.  Specifically it is targetted at people who are or would like to be in sales.

Several Key Points

There are several items however  that are interesting;  statements or claims or observations that are worth noting.  Now note that most of the facts sited, are not followed up with a source.  So, take them with a grain of salt.

In 1900 there were fewer than 5000 millionaires in the United States.  Today there are 2,000,000 (eh maybe not “today” with the market crash) and 40 billionaires.  One new millionaire is created every 12 minutes.

74% of these millionairs made their money via Self-Owned Businesses.

Your marketing skills will account for 90% of your success.

Near the end of the book, there is an entire section dedicated to “business types” like franchises, etc. and lists of Home Based business ideas.  Note that running a website like Quitting the Day Job isn’t really considered or explored.

The final chapters are very superficial coverings of business types, legal documentation and planning.  Very little.

The end of the book has a  series of appendices and a plan for the 48 Days.

I’m at Day 5 and I’ve already thought that this program, while not that old, is already completely and totally dated.  Especially given the fact that the internet has truly changed the way we all think and do business.  And of particular note, there is NOTHING in this material that couldn’t be gleaned from the internet with just a few hours of surfing.  Nothing.

But now the reading and pre-work is done.  It’s time to dig in and get going.

This is where the real meat of posting about this program will come in.  Up until now I’ve only been giving the most superficial of descriptions, but now, as I plan and work through each day, I will post my progress.
