To October! And BEYOND!
Oct 1st is a brand new start.
A friend of mine sent me an email saying that for the first time in months she reviewed her goals. She breaks them into 8 catagories(!!!): Mental, Physical, Spiritual, Family, Financial, Occupation, Social, Other.
After a disappointing September, I’m going to concentrate on 3 of those: Occupation, Physical and Financial.
Occupation: Unfortunately or fortunately, however you see it, in my day job I’ll be taking on a new project. One that will force me to update my skills set. Unfortunate mostly because it will definitely take time away from my efforts to actually Quit the Day Job. Fortunate, because it will update my skills set. Maybe enough to leave for a “happier place.”
Physically: I’d lost a lot of weight at the being of the year. But as the year has progressed, I’ve gained back most. In October, I vow to lose 8 lbs. 2 lbs. per week.
Financial: The catagory may not fit exactly, but ….I intend to continue the work on Quitting the Day Job. Working extremely hard at it. I did so in September and while Desk Coder and I saw little financial gain, we definitely saw a growth in traffic and interest in Quittingthedayjob.com.
As previously posted, I intend to use the entire month of October to being “48 Days to Creative Income” by Dan Miller. I intend to reread this, and take you, the reader, on this journey as well.
I’m hoping that by the end of October I’ll be 8 lbs lighter and by Mid-November, financially better off.
Let’s get to work!!!!

Good luck man! I’ll be following, and congratulations on the amount of posts for September. I know how difficult it is to write something on a daily basis!

It is nice having two people run a blog. My goal was 15 posts this month, and I hit 17.
We try to have one person post one day, the other the next, and on off days we promote the blog. I think it is working so far.

I think it’s working too.
Fortunately, we are also working the non-posting aspects from complimentary angles.
Desk Coder is working from a more technical aspect of getting some of our new widgets and code items working.
I’m working the promo angle on other established and “less-established” blogs.
Beyond that, we are also bouncing ideas off each other for our “solo careers” and coming up with a few new items that we can work on together.
Misery in the Day Job loves (tolerates) company.
