Personal Inventory

48 Days to Creative Income, Day 10

Day #10: Personal Inventory

WHAT A DAY!  I could barely make it to an early quitting time!  The clock felt like it stopped @ 2p.m. and never went forward.

Taking Personal inventory to help determine strengths, weaknesses and interests.

Strongest Abilities

  • While not a perfectionist, I want things done as correctly as possible.
  • I prefer simple straightforward approaches
  • I prefer things to be in order and logical

Weak Areas

  • I allow planning and order to get in the way of actually doing
  • I procrastinate when faced with something I’m not interested in doing.
  • I can complete 75% to 80% of something and not quite finish.

Hobbies

  • (Well, less now than ever before in my life…)
  • Reading
  • Computer Games
  • Movies

Other skills and interests?

  • I have programming skills
  • I have logic skill
  • This one gang kept wanting me to join ’cause I’m pretty good with a bo staff.
  • I like working on Blogs and websites, but am not super technical with them.

If you received $3 million tomorrow, what would you do?  How would your life changes?

  • I would quit the day job.  Duh.
  • Seriously I’d do the following in order:
  1. Pay off my house.
  2. My off my van.
  3. Use a small portion of money to fix up the house in terms of interior, etc.
  4. I would invest 50% into Money Market Funds or similar “cash-like” vehicles.
  5. I would invest the rest in mutual funds.
  6. I would work on my ideas all day long!!!!  Do whatever I WANT!

If you were told you had 6 months to live what would you do?

Most people would say go here, go there, do this ….

I’d keep working day in and day out until I couldn’t.  Family could not afford for me to quit work.  I have to work until long term disability kicks in and die so my life insurance would pay for most things.

What are you doing in your life that will last forever?

Simple.  My kids.  Not doing too good  job.  Could do better.  Could handle my temper better with them, if this stupid day job wasn’t so frustrating I’d come home a happier man.

How will people remember you?

Those who really really know me would say “He was ok.”  Good enough.

Based on this questions, I like the “area” of work that I’m doing, just not the specifics.  I don’t think I could switch careers completely.  I dont’ think I could make the money I do elsewhere.  But I’m not happy.  Changes need to be made.  Now, If i could just get that $3 million…..
